Feb. 21. Started up Bridle Path early (6:45 a.m.). Put on crampons below first lookout because of crusty footprints. Clear except for skidding clouds on summits. Trail conditions excellent below timberline. Above timberline frequent ice patches from rain and on Thursday, a COLD wind.
Decided to head south on ridge becuase of clearing summits. Windy on ridge, and no skin could be exposed for very long. Goggles iced up a lot--I need a new pair.
Looked around on top of Little Haystack. Met first people while descending Falling Waters. That trail firm--I didn't bring snowshoes or need them. 8 cars in lot when I finished.
