We are looking to do the wildcats over the weekend. We would rather not stay at the Hut. Is there a place to camp i the area?

Dolly Copp Campground which is 5miles north of Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.

Your best bets are past the hut on the Wildcat River trail. Go the required 1/4 mile from the hut and you can find spots.

there are several spots, some better and secluded than others, at the junction of 19milebrook and wildcat ridge trails at the requisite 1/4 mile away mark.

make sure you spend time in the notch and in the ramparts...lots of fun!
