My plan to do a pemi loop is falling through so i am looking for a solo adventure of my own to do and cannon seems like a good choice. I'm just not sure of which way to go that would be more enjoyable. Should I go up Hi Cannon then down Kinsman Ridge to the Pemi Trail for a loop or should i go the steeper path up Kinsman Ridge, down Hi Cannon, then Pemi Trail back for a loop?

Ideas? Thoughts?

I really enjoyed a trip up Hi-Cannon and down Kinsman Ridge over the Cannon Balls to Kinsman Pond, and a return by Fishin' Jimmy to Lonesome Lake. This trip is a little longer, and the Cannon Balls didn't hold too much attraction, but I really enjoyed Kinsman Pond and Lonesome Lake. The view up North Kinsman from the Pond is spectacular.

Be prepared for the Cannon Mtn. summit experience. The summit tower is covered with radio antennae, etc. and is crawling with tram-riders. If you get past these distractions, (or even get a hot dog from the restaurant!) the views from Cannon are spectacular accross the Notch to Franconia Ridge and beyond, and down the Notch, too. Enjoy yourself, and hope for good weather! :)

Last time I looked at Cannon I was thinking about ascending the boulder field to the base of the cliff. At the base you could find some type of class 3 variation beside the face I imagine. If anyone has done this any beta would be apreciated.
