I hiked Mt Cardigan on Sunday with Mattl and my sister. I haven't been feeling very well lately, so it was nice to get out again. We took the easy way up, the West Ridge Trail, straight to the summit. Along the way, we passed underneath trees and leaves that are really beginning to turn.
This really is a quick hike, and we were along the ledges with 40-45 minutes, and the views were spectacular. The valleys were draped with red, orange and yellow, and there were puffy clouds that added to the scenery. Plus, on this morning, you could see quite far, all the way up to Franconia Ridge, the Bonds, over to Mt Chocoura, the Lakes Region, and south and east towards Ragged Mtn, Sunapee, and Kearsarge.
The trip down was nice, except there were about 5,000 other people out hiking, so it was almost like a conga line on the trail. Still, I was able to get a few shots of the foliage without people in the way.

All in all, it was a nice way to get back into hiking again, during one of the most breathtaking times of year. Hope you enjoy the photos.
