More trip reports should be written by Terra ~ What a sweetie she is, and an ambassador for all hiking dogs! She is now the newest member of F.L.E.A.
What a super group of hiking dogs and their H.C.'s So many dog stories shared. It was a super fantastic hike for all.
Leo ~ It was no wonder the little one had to turn back. He wouldn't stop wiggling, and probably used up all his energy.
Tuckerman ~ he's still a puppy that's locked in a big boy body. So sweet, eager to please, couldn't surpress his desire to play with everyone!
Sheep ~ his expression upon arrival at the summit read; Hey Bill, who are all these dogs... this is so neat!
Emma ~ She gave us all a momentary scare..... Where's Emma.... Emma?
EMMA...... EMMA! And then there she was "Sheesh folks, calm down. I was just going back to get Baxter so he wouldn't miss all these treats"
Baxter ~ Such a sweet boy. Snortle Snortle. The essence of calm wiggling delight.
Martie ~ great experience for a girl that has experienced so little in her previous life. The event super charged her, to the point that she couldn't snooze on the ride home.
Lauky ~ Such spunk! It's a wonder that Ed isn't into trail running. Tuckerman & Lauky were a great match.
Watching the dogs weave in & out amongst all the packs & people, with intermittent play & snacking, living in the moment. We all should be so lucky to come back in another life as a dog..............that belongs to one of us of course. They had a great day.
One of the funny moments was on the return trip. The group paused for a moment, and Tim decided that it was high time the dogs all had a snack
With out putting too much thought into this manuver, he retrieved the cookie bag, and with the first rustle of the paper, the swarm of dogs closed in. Quite calmly Tim said to Val "I think I'm going to need some help". Tim had crouched down, and was now eye level with the pups, or all their noses I should say. It was great to watch. Each patiently waited & took their snack & than went back to playing & sniffing.
Terra did her best to get a roving game of Keep Away (with a stick) going, but most of the others didn't quite catch on. She forgave them for their inexperience in such an obvious trail game. A true leader or better group tour guide can be found. Thanx again folks for a very fun day.
