Is there a trail, and is it well marked to this mountain. what is the name of the road from silver lake road to franklin falls. also is there anything to see in franklin falls, it worth the extra drive.

Yes there is a trail and the trail itself is well marked but easy to miss if you are driving too fast. The trail is on the Forestville Road. From Wilmington go up the Whiteface Memorial Highway 2.8 miles and turn right on the Franklin Falls road which is before you reach the toll booth. Follow this for 3.3 miles to another right turn. Follow this 0.8 miles where you turn Right onto Forestdale Road. At 2.2 miles down this road on a short straight stretch at the bottom of a small hill the trail is on the north. It begins as a small path. There was some surveyors tape there with a small sign. It was a few years ago so there might be some differences. I noticed when doing Silver Lake Mt this spring a new sign was there and improved parking. Not sure what they have done if anything at Catamount.

trailhead

Don't remember a sign but last year there was tape and red-ish spray paint blaze on a tree at trailhead. The roadside is also widened from parking.
