I am thinking about heading up there this sunday. Likely to have enough snow to make it reasonable?

This past weekend it was still good, but there was some precipitation this Sunday. The observatory says "We were expecting sleet and freezing rain, however, more snow fell and the summit received about 1.5 inches of snow, mixed with the sleet and freezing rain."

Sooooo, it's really your call. The gullies could've gotten a wetter mix than the summit, but the continuous lower temps and all the wind in there could've hardened things up. I met two skiers who climbed South this weekend and had no problems.

Thanks for the infos cbdbd and giggy. I will definitely be looking at what other people are doing before heading into the gully. If it looks like no one is heading up, I am thinking Hillman's in Tucks looks good.
