On a very cloudy, rainy and outright wet Saturday, I and some 19 other VFTT brethren were fortunate enough to join Arm in completing his NE 100 highest on East Baldpate in Maine. Although we got no views, we had a great time, had some good laughs and got to understand again how important Darren's contribution to our lives has been with this little website. (Arm's summit toast)

A truly great day (weekend, actually) with some great people on a great summit!

There actually was one guy who had a great "View From The Top". Moments after we started the summit celebration, "Cowboy" an AT NoBo appeared. I asked him if he was a North Bounder, he said yes, I handed him the bottle of champagne, Harry convinced him that there was no way he was going to carry a full beer back, and more trail magic ensued. After the beer, some good laughs, his parting words from about 50 feet away were a simple "Yee-Ha!"

Arm: congratulation for joining the club. I've had a great time hiking with you, and look forward to many more adventures and Bad Puns!

I haven't done them and I haven't met Arm but congratuations on an accomplished goal.

Great

Very nice, Arm, and congratulations.
Wish I could have been there.

Congratulations, Arm!!! sorry I couldn't make it. Ah well, life is what happens when you're making other plans. Glad that even tho the day wasn't the best, the company made it so.

carole: truly one of Maine's Gems. It has great views (when you can get them!). It's not that bad a drive for you (about the same distance as Evans Notch). You could probably convince Arm (and me) to head up there again on a nice day ;)

armfest aught 4 was great!

i can't remember the last time i laughed so much on a hike.

again, congratulations and well done arm!

Congratulations Arm!
Nat and I wish we could have been there for the festivities.

We'll make sure to be there for the next list ;)

Congratulations Arm! Well done! I am sorry that I wasn't able to join you guys, but hopefully I will be there when you finish your "Winter" 100 highest... :)

Awesome job!

Out of curiosity, did you go via the old Frye Brook Trail (old AT) or by Rt 26 ? If you havent done the Frye Brook Route, its worth another trip as the rock flumes and gorges are real impressive.

Congrats, Arm!

It was a great hike with great friends, I don't even remember the several hours of pouring rain!
:D

It was great to finally meet some of you, a wonderfully fun trip, and an honor to have been a witness to Arm's #100.

Special thanks to HarryK for feeding me when I discovered my food bag got left behind.

My pictures are coming soon; however, you can check out the momentous occasion in a 10MB movie. It works best if you right-click to download it, then watch it locally. It's here
