Hi,
I'm trying to plan a few day trip on the AT here in CT possibly starting in Kent. Is there any place to park near Rt 341? The AT Guide says there is no overnight parking around there, Is that right?
Thanks in advance,
Happyfeet

There is a small parking lot where the AT crosses Route 341. It is 0.8 miles west of Route 7, about 200 feet west of Schaghticoke Road, on the south side of Route 341. It is described in the Directions section of this trail description from the berkshirehiking website. My 1998 edition of Exploring the Appalachian Trail, Hikes in Southern New England by David Emblidge says overnight parking is available at this parking lot. It also states that there is overnight parking at Bulls Bridge and at River Road below St Johns Ledges. Perhaps one of the CT residents will know if there has been a change in the overnight rules at the Route 341 location. The parking lots could be crowded as these are popular day hike sections. The one place that does not have any parking is where the AT crosses Skiff Mountain Road south of Caleb's Peak.
