Boys were booked Saturday and Sunday so we couldn't get to NH. Instead they stayed with their Grandparents and me and my wife left town around 3pm Saturday for Salisbury, CT and the Undermountain Trail. By about 4:15 we were hiking and took Undermountain to Paradise and Sages Ravine.
The storm had swept the river banks and the foot bridge across the river back to the CT side, so we opted to camp on the CT side where you used to be able to. Set-up, fed, fire and bed by about 10pm.
Around 8am we started to cook, clean and pack-up. Soon we were headed south to ascend the north side of Bear Mountain.
We were on the summit with The Flag by about 10:30. Several appreciative visitors, about 10 or 12 in all, saw the flying flag.
We headed out about noon and were back to the parking and home by 2:30. A great 24 hours and we were proud to represent the effort in CT.
This trip's photos.
