Dugan, you reminded me. When we lived in Shrewsbury, Mass, I climbed Mt Waschuset also at least 30 times simply because it was close (as well as a great smaller mtn)and I could be there in 30=45 minutes. Drive time is a factor. New England has good hiking country almost everywhere w the Whites as the premier area IMHO.
