You have to either die or be rendered sterile to win a darwin award. The whole idea behind the award is that your stupidity is stupid enough that you prevent yourself from passing on your stupid genes. That way, the human species evolves to be smarter because of you. Hence, "Darwin" award.

So, at best, this kid would only get an honorable mention. He'd incapable of winning the darwin award because both he, and presumably the family jewels, are still alive and kicking.

He'd still qualify if his actions rendered him such a social outcast that no women would be seen with him, let alone entertain the idea of offspring. Sadly, these days, his act probably gets him more attention, accelerating human decline.
