Hey, I was at South Branch Pond, too, this weekend. Maybe we crossed paths?

sure, I canoe camp. I'll be doing it again this weekend at Scraggly Lake. The boat is good for brining the lobster pot, lobsters, and all the fixings for dinner.

I also live on the Penobscot and sometimes I put in in Old Town, paddle back to my house, have a beer and canoe camp on my porch. it's splendid!

Saco

I'll throw in my two cents worth with a vote for the Saco River. I've done it twice from Conway to Fryberg, Maine I think it was. Last time was some time ago however.

I do remember it takes two days, two nights if I remember correctly. Lots of good camping spots right along the river, and also a few good rope swings. Requires one portage around the Swan Dam.

I'd like to take on the Allagash Waterway in Maine before my time on this earth is through. :)
