Thinking about the western "hollow" approach. it sounds like these woods roads are snowmachined.. does anybody know about winter parking spots along Tower Road, I don't care or expect to be able to go up any further, plus with a short hike already, the extra mileage is no big deal. I presume if the route is snowmachined, that there has to be some decent parking lots for trucks with trailers in the area...

So I have some beta on the route itself.... just wondering about winter as those roads are not paved but sounds like some nice houses on it.

Thanks, doesn't look to be any real snow down here in the Berkshires. Don't think I'll see any snowmobiles either..

Didn't see any chains across the road but I parked at the end of it just past the last house on the right. Don't think anybody will be driving to the tar paper shack any time soon.. Irene must of done a number since there is a huge gully down just before the fork in the road before you see the shack there..
