some friends and I are considering using this trail as we head up to Eisenhower tomorrow. We haven't been able to find any recent info on conditions there. If anyone can clue us in to the likelyhood of the water crossings being high and dificult it would be appreciated. Also, what's the story on the damaged suspension bridge? Has that been repaired yet?

As of a couple weeks ago when I hiked Mt. Crawford, there was a sign at the Davis Path trailhead stating that the bridge over the Dry River was still out of commision.

hmmm, from DougPaul's link:

The Dry River Bridge is not passable. The bridge is 2.9 miles from Rt 302, on the Dry River Trail, in the Presidential-Dry River Wilderness. The bridge spans a particularly volatile river crossing that is difficult and potentially hazardous during times of low flow and extremely dangerous if not impossible during high water such as during or after rain events. The bridge is scheduled to be replaced in September 2007. Please consider this if planning a trip to this area.

food for thought indeed
