BeccaM and I hiked Greenleaf Trail to Eagle Pass, then up to Eagle Cliff.

Becca isn't accustomed to being awake so early in summer...

Eagle Pass...

From a little above the pass we left trail and made our way to a broad ridge that leads up the back side. We found some nice moose trails to follow...

On the way back down I wanted to explore a little more to the eastish for moose habitat. We found what looks like a ski trail.

It's about 25' wide and the cuts are of varying age, as seen in the lower right

Nice! Eagle Cliff is one of my favorite spots to hang out on a warm day.

That "ski trail" looks really interesting - I've wandered around in there quite a bit but have never seen it. Hopefully you put up some flagging so I can go find it? :D ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful stuff, Patrick!

I've explored some segments of the Eagle Cliff ridge, but not nearly as much as another member of this Forum (NeoAkela). Hopefully, he will chime in and respond to this thread since he has a lot of history, photos, etc about this area. I'm not certain about this, but I think at one time, there was work being done to construct an official trail that would've started roughly where Exit 34C on I-93 is now located, and then would've somehow hooked into the Greenleaf Trail.

Thats a nice area, I gave climbed the "EAGLET" twice, a nice little spire and quite unussual for New England, Im sure your familiar with it right?
