F Ridge and the Psycho Grouse

Years ago on the Gale River Trail a dive-bombing grouse slammed into my pack so hard that it split open a watermelon I had tied to the top of the pack.
Other times they've been content to hike along beside me for a while.

Abster - thanks so very much for posting your trip report. I've discussed the idea with some friends about doing this very hike. I wondered about the time estimate also. How did you find the Skook trail?

I've been on the length of Franconia Ridge many times, but never by this route.
