I had one of the diesels come down out of the fog on the July 5th as I climbed just shy of Trinity Heights. Interesting to hear it long before it was visible in the thick fog. The passengers all looked like ghostly mannequins til I waved a bit and they started to come to life. Wonder who thought they were seeing a ghost/or ghost train more me or the cogites!;)

This is about a month late, but our CFO mentioned that in Business NH Magazine for August the Cog earned one of the 2010 Lean and Green Awards...

Excerpt:
Green Practices awards were given to four companies that demonstrated sustainable processes resulting in increased energy savings. The winner for small companies (under 100 employees) was The Mount Washington Cog Railway in Bretton Woods.

(there's not much in the article, the magazine was more interesting, including a blurb about passengers getting a longer stay since the train is faster.)
