Date of Hike: 6/3/08
Trail Conditions: Five Summers trail was muddy and overgrown in places. Not a pleasant trail in many ways. M-S Greenway from Lucia's to Black Bear is beautiful. It was nothing challenging but a pleasant walk in the woods. Black Bear trail was a lot like Five Summers- a wide logging/snowmobile trail. Nothing too exciting
Special Equipment Required: None. Just be prepared for mud and lots of it.
Comments: I've been wanting to explore Pillsbury State Park for a while and when the forecast for thunderstorms in the Whites showed up this morning I decided to explore today. I loved the little bit of the M-S Greenway I explored and will definitely be back for some backpacking here. I would avoid the Five Summers as an out and back would have been much nicer than a loop using this tail.
