Flash Frozen February -- Hit those bridges!

Trail reports from several locations this past weekend indicate that stream crossing conditions are good. Forecast is for the frigid conditions to continue through this week into next weekend. The Weather Service is even making noise about the cold running through February.

In other words: Hit those bridges! Now's the time to do those routes with stream crossings that were impossible or "merely" problematic earlier this winter. Bring your extra clothing, be ready to protect exposed flesh from windchill, and "let's be careful out there" while crossing.

Agreed. Trails like Sabaday Falls Trail are so much different with all the crossings that are now frozen. I enjoy using small streams as trails at this time. Lots of critters do the same, leaving nice tracks.
