Coldfeet, Hickie and I got out for a moonlit paddle last night in Centerport, here on Long Island. Got on the water just as the sun went down and watched the moon rise up. Killer night. The north wind was at about 10-15kts and we were paddling the incoming tide...good stuff.
There were some small white caps which made it fun when the water splashed across the bow and in the face. Really glad to be out there with those guys. We've been talking about it for a long time now.

Any other Long Island paddlers out there willing to join us? David says he wants to start up the regular Wednesday night paddles again. :D

Sounds ncie. Wish I was closer. Lost my regular paddling partner. If you ever want to come to south jersey on a weekend.....

Sorry to hear that.

Sounds good. Whatchya got down there besides the Atlantic? Barrier Islands, bays, rivers?

Coldfeet and I have been on the Mullica but that was with the canoe...would like to do some more open water paddling. Barnegat Bay?

Hi Daxs...went back to assateague over the weekend with 43 other paddlers

beautiful weather but a little chilly for the ponies...only saw 3 on Saturday on an island....but on Sunday my buddy Hiky spotted a bald eagle :D of course as we got closer it flew in the other direction.....thinking next year I'll car camp over there....

Ok Chris, I'll start thinking about Wed nights again.....

Island Beach State Park by Toms River is a nice place to paddle. I also paddle off of brigantine and in Delaware Bay. for close stuff I usually put in the Intracoastal Waterway since its a short couple of mile drive for me. For pine barren paddling you really need a canoe and not a touring kayak.
