A dusting of snow on lower Gale River Trail. 3 to 5 inches before reaching Garfield Ridge and 4 to 6 at the Hut, on Frost Trail and at the summit. I didn't use my microspikes but if this snow hangs on, and as the trail gets more traffic, they will be useful.

The snow event on the Franconia Ridge, including Galehead, seems somewhat localized. I saw pictures of Stinkyfoot's crew from Sunday, and I was on Moriah Friday and Vose Spur yesterday - these summits have a dusting, but not the several inches seen in these pics. Regardless, always a good idea to carry some type of traction from early October on.
