The trail was frozen from the start with frozen rubble from the trees making a ball bearing type surface to contend with. Run off from fridays rain was frozen solid creating frozen waterfalls for just about the entire run. Stabilicers or crampons are a must, snowfall was minimum from friday night making snow shoes impracticle. Blowdown was light , however frozen bows were heavy and plentifull especially on Panther. The temps were in the 30s but the winds were heavy out of the northwest and the Brunton sherpa said gusts up to 40 mph in the col between Giant ledge and Panther. Up with 6 from the NJSAR Mountain Rescue Unit. A great day had by all.
