Trail Conditions: Hiked the Great Gulf Trail to Spaulding Lake. Not much snow and bare-bootable or light traction until around Clam Rock. From here the snow is great for snowshoes. The water crossings were open to mostly bridged, nothing to tricky and these will be more solid with the cold snap. Trail is nicely broken out to Spaulding Lake now. Trail was pretty easily followed except for one crossing just before the Sphinx Trail Junction. When making the crossing head to the slight right, not straight.

Comments: A rare winter opportunity to head deep into the great gulf to a remote and beautiful place. The lack of snow depth this winter allowed us to enjoy this hike from start to finish. Thanks Bob for putting this hike together and to Andrew and Alton for setting a good pace. Pics / Report
