I just received this E-mail from Hiker Ed:

Hi to All

Yesterday, Friday, Feb 22, 2013, I completed my "2nd GRID" "AFTER THE AGE 60" on the summit of Mt Jefferson.

I have now completed the "GRID" "TWICE" since the day of my 60th birthday on May 8, 2006.

( 12 X 48 = 576 ) X 2 = 1152 AFTER AGE 60.

A spectacular blue sky day in the Presi Range.

A special thanks to John, Fred, Innes, Dimetri, & Sandy, who joined me on this hike, on this day.

And, many thanks to all who have joined me along the way on so many of my hikes.

Thanks,
And, Take Care

Ed Hawkins

Congratulations Ed, very impressive!!!!

I met him right at the summit of Jefferson as he finished the second round, perfect timing! Pretty neat...

Congrats to Ed again!

After running into Ed a couple winter's ago near the West Bond spur, he officially moved ahead of moose on my list of most commonly sighted wildlife. ;)

Congratulations! I (as well as a lot of others) must have passed by you and exchanged pleseantries along the way. I could only hope to be in that condition at 60+.

Hey Pat, did our paths cross?

Tim
I don't think so Tim. I ran into many other active posters on VFTT/NETC and someone mentioned you were up ahead. I took Gulfside past Clay (my preferred route for heading up to Washington as I can keep a good fast pace without stopping) and I read from your report you took the Clay loop. I would have been in grey pants and a green baselayer. Seems everyone around here had the right idea on what to hike yesterday. I met a guy on Adams that saw the forecast and made the drive up from Virginia.
