although i dont see how being uninsured has anything to do with being unhealthy......

I don't think the news item says that. Here's the snippet as to one of the reason they rate Vermont highly:

"... few Vermonters lack health insurance."

well they basically made the assumption :

"Louisiana was at the bottom of the list as the least healthy state with its high rate of obesity, children in poverty and uninsured residents."

I'm also thinking about moving to Burlington. I lived there many years ago and it was the coldest winter I have ever experienced, but I'm tougher now

I like having a big lake and the mountains close. There are more folks to hang-out with and more places to work!
