Hi, I'm satchlj, a student at Williams College and an avid backpacker and backcountry skier. Last year I went to Uapishka and the Chic Chocs, had the time of my life. Planning a trip in either Baxter or the Pemi for this summer.

WIth respect to Baxter, make sure you understand the reservation system and ask questions. Hopefully they will revert back to online backcountry reservations again. Having to call up for backcountry reservations really made it a PITA to make reservations. Nevertheless worth the effort.

Some big lines to ski in the basins at Baxter but a lot of work to get to them !
