Actually there are several native honeysuckles, some of which are rare in parts of the northeast.

But I agree with HH1, that is a goldenrod (Solidago). You'd have to key it out to be certain which species specifically -- the habitat would probably be important.



Edit: I know there must be someone out there who can identify that Carex in the background... ;)
 
My guess would be Solidago flexicaulis, or zig-zag goldenrod. They do start blooming in June.

If I come back in my next life as a plant, thats the one for me, what a cool name. I shall look for the plant next June, nice information.
