Hewes Hill in Swanzey is on private property with trails and a new conservation easement from the Monadnock Conservancy.

The trailhead is on Warmac Road about half a mile W of Rte.32 - don't try to come in the other way as the bridge is out. Look for a narrow opening into a field across from a kennel. There is no sign here, but if you walk diagonally R across the field you will find a trailhead sign that says to park on the side of the road or in the entrance to the field without blocking it - not in the field itself. (corrected) N 42° 49.795 W 072° 16.911
The main trail follows a woods road uphill about half a mile to a glacial erratic called Tipping Rock. Route finding will be easier once you figure out that where there are two offset blazes, the trail turns in the direction of the _bottom_ blaze - the opposite of the AT standard. Beyond the rock the trail is a fairly level footpath running parallel to cliffs, and it reaches a good SW viewpoint in about .2 miles. A short ways beyond it runs out onto a ledge with cliffs above and below - further progress would require a parachute or rope. Rock climbers apparently use a route to the base of the cliffs that is not on the easement property.
Just before the ledge a herd path leads a short distance to the summit, which may be an outcrop or one of two small boulders. Going down, we accidentally used an alternate trail that comes out at the W edge of the field - the junction isn't signed and we didn't see it either direction. This was an easy hike for me as KH did all the driving and LoL did all the routefinding.
