Four of us hiked into Whiteface and Ester from the Weather Station. We started at about 7:30 AM and first climbed Ester. Our time after having lunch at the top of Ester and getting back to the main trail was 10:40 AM. From there we hiked to the peak of Whiteface hitting the summit at noon. As always, the top of Whiteface was windy and icy, but not as icy as I have seen it before in the winter. We were back to the parking lot at 2:30PM.
Trail conditions were excellent. We used microspikes all day long. The only challenge was the first pitch up the steep part that used to be a ski lift, and that was just because of icy conditions and a steep slope.
