Hi to All,

Just a quick note. Thought follks would like to know.

Yesterday, on an out and back hike of the Osceolas, I completed my

"4000th" "OFFICIAL" Four Thousand Footer of the Northeast ( ME, NH, VT, NY ).

Mt Osceola, at 12:08 PM.

It was a fine day. John Gutowski & Bob Martin joined me on this hike.

My thanks to all, who have joined me, along the way, on so many of my hikes.

It is a fun journey. And, never gets old!!!!

Thanks, again.

And, Take Care

Ed

Number of 4k's summited: 4,000. Yes, that's right, 4,000 4k's.

Yesterday, 2-9-12, Hiker Ed summited Mt. Osceola in the White Mountains of New Hampshire completing a grand total of 4,000 4k summits in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and New York. Along with friends John (me, 1/2 of J&J) and Bob (aka Wolfgang), we also summited East Peak Osceola which was Ed's #3,999. It was a beautiful day in the woods. We also had a chance to chat with Lefty E who also summited both peaks prior to seeing us.

Well done, Ed. Simply amazing.

The man, Ed, on the summit of Osceola.

Ed- somehow, you keep coming up with ways to top the last incredible accomplishment... and always with that huge grin on your face! Congratulations!

I guess it's lucky he isn't after 14-ers :)

I need to see if I have 1900 1900-footers :)

Not amazing knowing Ed, but impressive - yes!!

And it's a fine "Ed Hawkins" sitting' rock indeed!

Well done, Ed! I was flabbergasted when I got the email earlier today :)

I personally don't know anyone who has shared more trail and more peaks with more people than Ed - always with a handshake and a smile and a Coke!

Imagine doing the equivalent of 83 rounds of the NH 4k'ers. Stunning.

Amazing stuff! Having hiked nearly 100 4000 footers in slightly over a year, I could not imagine hiking 4000 even in my lifetime. I also can't imagine how many different animals Ed has observed, or how many difficult situations experienced while hiking the peaks. Not a bad choice at all either for peak 4000. Congrats.

A hearty congratulations. You ROCK!
