Our third hike of our winter vacation would be a group hike with our good friends Mark and Natalie Truman, Karen Maineri and Kevin, Emma and Judy, (whom we would finally meet in person). We met at the parking lot on Dundee Road at 10:45 and by 11 am we were ready to head up the ski trail to North Doublehead.
Even though this was our 5th time hiking the Doubleheads, the ski path seemed steeper and our pace was considerably slower this time around. It can fool you thinking a 1.8 mile trek with an elevation gain of 1600 is easy.
We took a break once reaching the cabin on North Doublehead.
By the time we reached South Doublehead the skies had clouded over and we had very limited views from the top.
We made a quick decent via the Old Path to complete a great day with a great group of friends.
