And like arghman says, the even lighting is a godsend to those willing to carry a tripod.

Provided the tripod is carbon fiber.

Trotting around the hills with a metal 'pod during a lightning storm might be the wrong kind of "god-send", if ya know what I mean.

Bummer - Another illusion, dissolved!

I imagine the tiny rubber feet don't make much of a difference. I wonder if even though CF conducts juice well, if there is any difference between metal and CF as to what attracts strikes, or if attraction is simply a function of the conductivity itself ?

I guess I was thinking of the fact that they don't conduct COLD as well as metal, but electricity is another matter. Thanks for the correction.
