Probably too late to help you but we got turned back on Mt. Success Saturday just below the summit. The Mahoosuc Trail between the Mt. Success trail junction and the summit had patches of ice that increasingly became just ice, no rock coming through as we approached the summit. Microspikes would have allowed us to make the summit. Anything more would have been overkill.

Mt. Success trail had some patches of ice but they were easy to get around.

by the time I tried to post trail conditions early this morning, VFFT had been hijacked/re-directed by some bizarre site in Italy and I was not able to access the site.[/B]

I had the same issue with VFTT this morning.

Sorry to respond to this so late -- by the time I tried to post trail conditions early this morning, VFFT had been hijacked/re-directed by some bizarre site in Italy and I was not able to access the site.
Sounds like DNS corruption. DNS (Domain Name Service) is the facility which translates names (eg www.vftt.org) into numerical Internet addresses (208.87.227.68 for vftt.com). Sometimes one can get around the corruption by switching nameservers, but the system will usually correct itself after some delay (unless you have a rogue nameserver).

An alternate nameserver (opendns.com): 208.67.222.222
