Are there views along the Imp trail from Rt. 16 up th the Imp shelter, or do you have to get up to the ridge before getting a view?

peakbagger said:To get to Imp shelter, take the North Carter trail to the Carter Moriah Trail and head south down over North Carter (a very steep climb) and eventually you will come out at the Imp shelter spur.
The fastest way to Imp shelter is up Stony Brook trail to the Carter Moriah Trail then head south. This cuts out the major elevation gain and loss for North Carter.

Boy taking a group up there in April is pushing it. I expect some pretty good snow pack in several spots and a lot of wet trails.

BTW it was nice meeting you in Steve's shop back on March 9th.
Can't be more than 3 miles, and nearly all downhill. As Rocks says a VERY easy ride (but I've always started that "loop" hike at Stony Brook, and would stash the bike at Imp trail in the woods)Mike P. said:Thanks Tom & Atticus.
