CrazyBob & I headed over to NH on a clear, crisp morning. Our normal trio was a man short as our friend Mike is recouping in sunny Mexico. Don't drink the water, Mike. :) Our first target was Jackson. Very chilly at the start, only a couple cars at the parking lot, drivers still in them waiting for others and it looked like we were first on the trail. Nice climb to get warmed up. Just after the first glimpse of the summit, we came to a spot where there is a notch in the rocks in the middle of the trail that requires a bit of careful climbing to get up and over. Not that many years ago when I first started my peakbagging I got turned around at this spot but today it was no problem. We hit the summit and found crystal clear skies, no wind, and bright warming sunshine.

after a few pictures we headed down. we had bare booted all the way to the top but we both put on our microspikes for the descent. Met alot of people coming up, very popular spot today as the parking lot was overflowing when we got back.
We unloaded and headed out for our second target of the day- Cannon. Arrived there shortly before noon and started out. Kinsman Ridge trail just goes up and up and up. Interesting new (to me) challenge on this trail- watching out for skiers and boarders at a few spots where the hiking trail and the ski trail compete for the same space. We leap frogged with a couple on our way up and reconnected with them at the cliff view point. We left them and headed for the summit. Again greeted by clear skies and very nice conditions.

I had put on my micropspikes at the start of this hike but CB bare booted the whole way up and made it all the way down as well. A quick descent and we were back on the road headed home. An awesome day on the trails, a couple more winter checks for my list. Thanks to CB for putting up with my "old man" pace all day. Made it home intime to see the final quarter of the Pats game, a perfect end to the day.

I was glad to join you on the double header and had a great time. I must be an old man because the "old Man pace" felt like a normal pace to me. It is a perfect day when you can bag a couple of peaks and get home in time to see the Pat's win for a spot in the Superbowl.:D:D

Keith,
A nice pair to add to your winter list. It looks absolutely beautiful in the mountains now.
That was an amazing game! Both teams played well. Still hard to believe; the game ended as it did.:( Enjoy the Superbowl!

Donna:)

Nice job gentlemen. You'll have my obnoxious, sarcastic a$$ out there before too long....enjoy your solitude while you have it!
