As Gary, Brian and I huffed and puffed our way over Lake Arnold Pass, Corry armed with boundless energy decided to break trail to the summit Colden! To add to his feat of the day he caught up with us on the summit of Skylight and then had the nerve to break trail to the summit of Gray. Obviously his previous day’s run to Marshall Mt. hadn’t clipped his wings in the least. His Sunday plan was Street and Nye to complete his weekend of climbing… while the rest of us mere mortals attended to our sore muscles.

Yup, Guinness and I ran into Cory on our way up Colden, but we missed most of you (probably cause we were "sleeping in" at Marcy Dam since all of us came in friday night, which was amazing. It's so serene going into Marcy Dam via moonlight. You'd never know it is such a highway in the AM.

Anyway, I saw your 9:15 in the snow at the Lake Arnold junction and thought it was Guinness but it must of been your party or Cory leaving a note.

I think I was inspired a little bit by a lot of new faces to go with names. Meeting a bunch of people who share your passion will motivate you. It also has a lot to do with the treatment at the loj. Not the ADK loj but the MotherSpruce Inn located in New Russia. Getting to take a hot shower, dry your cloths and gear to perfection and sleeping in a warm bed with a full night sleep...weee! Of course the food will have to be upgraded next time, I mean who wants a hot fresh open flame barbecued steak with pasta and sauces with fresh graded cheese for dinner after a hike. Then to be followed by pan seared steaks with wine sauce and cooked onions, more pasta with sun dried tomato sauce and a fresh tossed salad with home mixed olive oil and balsamic the next night, who could tolerate these conditions. ;) :D

Eat, eat & eat

;) Hi ColdRunRiver,

Just a advise from Junior watch your weight the snow or ice bridge have a low tolerance for overweight...remember in your Marsall up travel. :D

Did You use the log bridge Sunday for Nye & Street?

Pinpin Junior.

Yes indeed, I wrote to you about it after I posted this. If I can somehow learn to only drink a half a nalgene bottle of water during a 15 mile hike I not weigh to much either! :) Lucky I have MotherSpruce heat up my Gatorade bottles for that hike since it was chilly willy out there.

Jay, you are going to ruin my late start reputation!

OK... I'll try to leave earlier next time... :) I forgot how short a hike Colden is from the Dam... I was back by 1:30 with a nice stop at the summit for lunch and stuff with a lot of breaks in between and a short chat with Cory..
