Date of Hike: August 17, 2013
Trail Conditions: No notable crossings, one very minor easy-over blowdown. The trail was mostly dry and in good shape. There were some wet patches and a tiny bit of mud, even a puddle or two, but fine other than that.
Special Equipment Used: None.
Comments: Hiked this one solo, and even though it is almost literally in my back yard and I see it every morning when I wake up, it's taken me a month of mornings to finally take it on. Unlike before when I was constantly in the mountains training to be a guide, now that I'm actually working as a guide (and I hike something almost daily), my personal hike time is considerably more limited. Ironic I think. Kearsarge North is a nice mountain with a fairly easy trail -- and I'm looking forward to doing it again -- but it's certainly not a pushover. The trail is 3.1 miles one way with 2600 feet of gain! I made great time, though: 1.5 hours up; 46 minutes down.
