Lafayette Campground tomorrow???

I'm hoping to get a quick response. I'm planning a hike and and some overnight tent camping for tomorrow. The place I had originally hoped to stay at isn't open. If I understand correctly Lafayette campgound is open on a walk-in basis. I'm assuming you can park in the lot and then just walk in with all your equipment and stuff. If anyone has ever done this can they tell me if there is a fee, if I can expect it to be crowded, and so forth? Just wondering what to expect. It will be three adults and five kids aged 5-9. Thanks for any input. Tim

ps: Short answer? Hancock Campground on Rt. 112 east of Lincoln; get there by sun-down, should be ok.
