Lake of Clouds Water

A FYI, I am not sure if it was a one time issue, but when stopping by Lakes this weekend for a water refill, the drinking water from the tap had a distinct aftertaste. It definitely tasted heavily processed and I expect that some sort of treatment chemical had been used. I thought it was possibly something in my water container but one of the others on my hike has the same comment. It was palatable with some electrolyte mix but definitely not very pleasant.

Not a lot of options up except filtering out of the Lakes but for some it may be worth lugging it up instead of filling up at the hut.

I passed by there on the 20th and filled up. The water tasted fine to me. Hopefully just a one time problem.

I believe that in order to comply with public health regulations, the water at all the huts is dosed with cholorine.
