For the tarptent, you can’t go wrong with any of the Shires models but you might want to look at the Six Moons Luna before you buy. I saw one recently and was impressed with its interior size and ‘sit-up’ room. I believe it’s a pound and a half.

I have the Cloudburst and it has worked out well. I bought it as a two-person tent and thus liked the large arched front more than the narrow peaked front on the other models. If using strictly for one person, however, I’d go light and get the Virga, especially now with the new, wider entrance.

i bought the ll bean light stuff tent last year, and it is very good and light for multi day hikes but it is a little cramped. I am 6-2, and i would not dream of sleeping inside the tent w/ another person, unless they were a skinny midget.
