Trail Conditions: Snow on the Falling Waters Trail from the very beginning until tree line. EXTREMELY narrow "monorail" of snow, very tough to balance on without trekking poles. Franconia Ridge Trail was basically snow free except a shady spot or two. Old Bridle Path had almost constant snow from Greenleaf Hut to about 2/3 down the trail, then was more spotty and avoided by walking to the side on rocks.
Special Equipment Required: Barebooted. Trekking poles & Micro-spikes would have been great.
Comments: Beautiful day. Many people were out. Almost everyone was bare-booting. Hadn't received my Microspikes in the mail yet, wish I had, as I seemed to have expended a lot of energy just recovering from slips and slides. The snow on Greenleaf Trail below treeline and Old Bridle Path got pretty well buggered up by all the barebooting, and sliding down the slopes with the boots.
