Date of Hike: Saturday, 6-21 (before storms): Race day!
Trail Conditions: Dry where expected; nothing unusual.
Special Equipment Required: None, though bug repellent for black flies, sunscreen, and a sun hat were really useful.
Comments: Hiked up from overnight at Hermit Lake shelters. Did not have problems with black flies inside shelter itself, but on lower Tuckerman Ravine Trail they were quite active. Walked part of Alpine Garden Trail to see and photograph flowers on return. Shelter companions returned from the summit via Boott Spur Cutoff and reported nothing unusual. We all decided to head down to PNVC Saturday night in advance of predicted 36 hours of T-storms.
