Just wondering if anyone could give some info on lodging over by Mt. Abraham and Mt. Ellen...did some on line looking but nothing is more valuable than hearing from someone who may know!! thanks, Lefty E

I stayed there last winter after hiking Moosalamoo and befofe hiking Abe/Ellen. It's decent lodging, nothing fancy but most of the places right in Middlebury were too expensive for my needs. You will pretty much have to drive to get food, etc but the place was fine. You can certainly find more upscale lodging closer to downtown but they will be more expensive...

Also look in Waitfield and possibly Waterbury. Jay's suggestion is a good one, but if distance is an issue, you can get a bit closer than Middlebury.

We've stayed at the Greystone. It's okay pricewise, but we got the room at the end that was cramped and moldy.

If you get a room on the main strip they look fine.

We were there to climb Breadloaf and Wilson, but it's not too long a drive to Lincoln Gap.

We've also stayed at the Middlebury Inn in what must have been its cheapest room. It wasn't that much more expensive than the Greystone but it was even more uncomfortable.
