Hi all - figured I would pass this info on - I took a chance and picked up a new softshell about 2 months ago from a company called LOKI (which I never heard of)

http://www.lokiusa.com/

I saw them at hiltons tent city and thought some features it had were cool - like the attached mittens and and attached face mask. It also has a hood and the price was nice - about $130.00 at hiltons.

I did a little research prior to buying as well as calling the company and got some info - they are a pretty new company and he said they don't advertise much (yet) which allows for lower price - and they market primarily by word of mouth out west to ice climbers and skiers.

I have taken it on 3 trips so far in the whites and took it to ireland and scotland where it performed very well in 3 days of rain and cold wind. I was outside most of these days and stayed dry and warm (it was in the 40's) This leads me to think that it will perform great in the snow. It is nice and warm and has pit zips for venting.

so far - I like it. I figured I would pass this on. soft shells are pricey and this is a good deal and had some really nice features I think.

just a FYI if your in the market for a softshell - give it a look
