Hi does any know if there are any trails up Ellis Mountain (small around 2600')in the Adirondacks? It is in the Blackbrook, Clayburg, Redford towns area. Unsure if it is private land or not. I can not find anything on the net about it. Was hoping to find a link to some trip report or something.

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Chuck

I can help you out, Chuck. Route 9N comes into the center of the town of Ausable Forks from the East. 9N will take a quick left as you enter the "downtown", stay on it for a block or two. 9N will jig to the right, but, instead of following 9N to the right, continue straight and cross over a bridge that is right in front of you.

Now the river is to your right. Drive 2.5 miles to a stop sign where the road you're on ends at a "T". Turn left and drive a bit under 0.2 miles. Turn left again and drive 0.45 miles where you will see a right turn. Take it.

The road you're on now will run you right up to the base of Ellis Mtn. It's about a half mile long and then it becomes nothing more than a jeep trail passing the S foot of Ellis. There are no trails up Ellis.
