Every article I've read (including the one linked above) says it's set for a big screen release.

I see what the article says but unless great liberties are taken to supplement the story, I just dont see it being something worth buying a ticket to. Many movies are released theatrically in limited theatres but very quickly go to streaming. My guess is its fairly cheap movie to film.

IMHO My memory of the book is a "city" kid gets lost off the summit plateau into the Klondike, eventually making his way into the Wassataquoik drainage and out towards the East Branch, he eventually stumbles his way into a sporting camp. His story was shaped heavily by the person listed as contributor that took the fairly confused memories of Donn and molded them into an "inspirational" story which was popular in the press of the time.

Well, just read an article at centralmaine.com (6/21/24) that it will be at the Maine International Film Festival, which I then looked up and it's 7PM on July 13. I'd like to go but may wait for it to be in some theater at some point in the Portland area. Sylvester Stallone's a producer. Maybe he'll be inspired to climb Katahdin and do a film on that, "Real Rocky".

They'll be a lot of interest regardless who produced it. It's an amazing story of survival.
