there's a foot of powdery cover in most places, and drifts of 3-4 feet in places on mount desert island, maine. it will be a good time for snowshoeing in acadia!

That's good news for MDI. When I was there over MLK weekend, the trails were solid ice but we managed to skate up a few mountains anyway. Carefully. I left just as the big storm came through that next weekend.

As for Franconia NH at 1200', we've got a foot+ and at least another 2-4" coming today. You can probably count on upwards of 2' at higher elevations. It's very powdery light snow so it will blow and drift a lot when the winds pick up later on today.
