We had an incredible day on Sunday hiking the Kinsmans. What a treat to get an October Indian summer day with great foliage colors and a place in the mountains with no crowds! The hiking was awesome and the views incredible. We also managed to make this into something of a loop hike and get in a couple of miles on new trails which was very worthwhile. You can read the blog post for the whole story just check out the pictures which tell it pretty well.

And here's a tiny sample of the views

Thanks everyone. I'm still recovering from the feeling I got when that view over Lonesome Lake first appeared. It was one of those take-your-breath-away moments that's a notch beyond the many awesome sights that we get out there so often. Being able to capture an image that at least somewhat conveys that feeling is a real bonus. Glad I could share it.

And Mark - you're 100% right. There are only good days out and great days out, and this was definitely the latter!

Mark,

I agree the photo of Lonesome Lake is absolutely stunning. I would have had the feeling that I didn't want to leave such a beautiful scene. Great report!
Many more memorable hikes await you and Natalie.

Donna:)

I've seen a lot of "run of the mill" photos of the Lonesome Lake view, but none like the one you posted! Beyond awesome!

Donna - Thanks. You're right, we really didn't want to leave (as was the case several times in several locations during the day).

John - Thanks for the kind words. I'll never get tired of this view, no matter the vantage point or the conditions. This time was a bit extra special though. Glad the image was able to somewhat do it justice.
