Another in East Greenbush!

This one is only a couple of miles from my house - east of Albany.

A moose was reported along Best and Mannix roads in town this morning, two days after a female moose drew a crowd of gawkers to Saratoga Race Course.

East Greenbush police dispatcher said he received calls about a sighting of a wayward moose early this morning and alerted the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

The moose apparently was making its way through the wooded outskirts of Rensselaer, not far from the interchange of Interstate 90 and Route 43.

Maybe he'll come to the East Greenbush dog park to visit us this afternoon. Tucker's never seen a moose.

No doubt they tranquilized it and removed it because they were afraid that a moose at full-lope could make some of their thoroughbreds look kinda silly. That, or they were afraid he'd mix it up with some of the fillies with indeterminate results.

While that is funny, moose simply do not belong in race tracks, or any place with a lot of people, valuable commodities, etc.
